Using the power and spirit of a worldwide free software community to promote language exchange.

Nowadays, the collaborative spirit of free software communities, especially in worldwide communities like Debian, is very similar to that found in communities of polyglots. Unfortunately, it is common to see large communities using social media for finding partner and knowledge sharing, that do not respect their privacy, such as Facebook, as well as widely used applications for language exchange, such as Skype, that spy on their daily habits.

The purpose of this informal meeting would be doing a brainstorm about the existing options in free software for language exchanging learning, and motivating motivate the creation of a group (pkg-language-learning ?) responsible for maintaining a set of applications related to it and based on free software. In addition, we could seize the opportunity to encourage the emergence of language exchange groups with members from our Debian community.
